This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 01, 2008:
I love it any time people fill the street up and no room for cars it is a time for strangers to bump eachother unbarriered and everyone to put their legs into good motion and be together moving in big communication. Imagine the geese are people and the snow pavement and imagine what the geese might want to march for...

Help

A daily bread tax on all humans … to be paid out on golf courses along migration routes …
farland you made me think of this song because she says, “went to a protest just to rub up against strangers”. maybe that's what your geese are doing here– just being together for the pleasure of it. that's a good cause.
I imagine the geese are marching for the exercising of their webbed feet so that they are more agile in their ability to stamp out winter fires if those fires got to be either out of bounds or irritating or both. Jon xx
They better not march in NY State. It is estimated that we have about 200,000 geese roaming about…and the State Dept of Enviroment & Conservation wants to reduce the goose population. They're encouraging hunters to bang away at them. until March 10th.
Certain wild animals adapt to thrive closing in on urban areas coyotes rats pigeons and the geese. Maybe all animals would if we let them. Bears try and we kill the ones who become good at eating from our fridges. Soon flocks of geese that stil migrate will be flying over to announce spring all honking and rotating lead vee position. It pulls at me every time to join up.
Yes, being together is a good cause and strong webbed feet are good things to have.
My sincere n much hearted blessings n endearments to farlandjee and my warm, touching n exhilarated greetings blend with well-wishes, a very Good Morning and wishing you a prosperous n calm new month n have a peaceful sunday.
awesome way to represent your thought and so eloquent and grasping the example you put, well the picture is catchy and lovely as usual but the notion to relate your imagination is awe-inspiring.
I imagine marching toward integration, so lovingly n frankly communicating and so much contentment they feel whilst marching, I imagine everyone pouring out loves n their well-wishes upon eachother and so intimately conveying loves n friendliness.
hmm…………………… just a superb way to come up with this post, you wonderful farlandjee, yes you have a witty as well beside groovy skilled photographer, i love n do enjoy your writings they are indeed sometime complex but in way only strengthen people's vocabulary.
I wish May this lovely wonderful being dwell in richness of peace n loves, May she glide into pond of happiness daily and keep rejoicing in calm, exquisite hills of colorado ! blessed be my dearly friend and realise enlightenment in your life !
lovingly n sincerely

They're marching to advance their shadows a little bit more down the snow pavement. Or maybe there's a sign that says “food, sex, and shelter ahead.” Or maybe it's that they do want to exercise they little feet, or rub winged shoulders together because it feels good. Or likely it's all that.
they are awfully cute..
wonder if anyone has ever tried to make goosefoot-shaped snowshoes
It's funny that geese always walk pigeon-toed…
Ya know, I never thought of that….
Right. With the web splay of their feet it would be roomier if they turned out. Magpies walk straight on. Their foot prints are everywhere here they are always looking for food scraps left by the dogs.
maybe they're marching cuz they're bored with the V-formation … and are looking for a new letter of the alphabet to master?
I think they want to try “S” …
what Ssssssay you?
Maybe they are marching away from some woman on skis with a camera calling out hey goosey hey goosey!
that's is so totally what they are doing farland. i haven't been around you talking to birds enough lately. i remember thinking, when we were in iceland, “does she always talk to every animal?”. and yes, now I know, you do. haha! and I love it.
