 Last week one busy day I went out to get my skis from the rack at work and they were gone. They were my best classic race skis the ones I had been given when I was in Norway and poles too the Swix team pole. In their place were some old maybe 20 year old Fischer Skate Skis and same vintage poles. I recognized the skis from a customer who had considered renting boots and filled out a form. I found the form and called the number it was disconnected. I tried to find the address given but it didn't seem to exist. I called Dawn. She encouraged me to call the police knowing they'd be gracious if it was a mistake. So I filed a report and I was very sad. The next day at work I pulled out some ancient skis and borrowed some poles for giving lessons. Around midday I went out and there were my skis in the rack and the others gone. They had been taken by accident and returned! I called the police to close the case. I told them the skis had been returned and my faith in humanity restored. Apparently that was written in the police report about the return of my faith in humanity. Sheriff George thought maybe that would be cause for Aspen to go on Code Red alert "when Farland Fish lost her faith in humanity". Now it is back to Green again. (That bomb scare was no more than Amber)

How could your life be more balanced?

I love the feeling of balance. I think bodies are happy to be balanced enough to play with the concept to push to the edges and back and that must be the same for the mind kind of balance and the spirit kind too.

That is the way it is unless you have got a troll splinter in your eye or in your heart

A reminder of one great Hyperboreal story with many tellings

An evil "troll"  makes a magic mirror that has the power to distort theappearance of things reflected in it. It fails to reflect all the goodand beautiful aspects of people and things while it magnifies all thebad and ugly aspects so that they look even worse than they really are. The trolls delight in taking the mirror throughout the world to distort everyone and everything. They enjoy how the mirror makes the loveliest

landscapes look like "boiled spinach." They then want to carry the
mirror into heaven with the idea of making fools of the angels and God,
but the higher they lift it, the more the mirror grins and shakes with
delight. It shakes so much that it slips from their grasp and falls
back to earth where it shatters into billions of pieces — some no
larger than a grain of sand. These splinters are blown around and get
into people's hearts and eyes, making their hearts frozen like blocks
of ice and their eyes like the troll-mirror itself, only seeing the bad
and ugly in people and things.

I think I am dependent on everyone in the whole world and everything in the whole world.
And maybe even beyond that.

What was your favorite childhood song or lullaby?

It was "The Friendly Beasts"  I love that it is from 12th century France.

Jesus, our Brother, strong and good,
Was humbly born in a stable rude,
And the friendly beasts around Him stood,
Jesus, our Brother, strong and good.

“I,” said the donkey, shaggy and brown,
“I carried His mother uphill and down,
I carried His mother to Bethlehem town;
I,” said the donkey, shaggy and brown.

“I,” said the cow, all white and red,
“I gave Him my manger for His bed,
I gave Him hay to pillow His head;
I,” said the cow, all white and red.

“I,” said the sheep with curly horn,
“I gave Him my wool for His blanket warm,
He wore my coat on Christmas morn;
I,” said the sheep with curly horn.

“I,” said the dove, from the rafters high,
“I cooed Him to sleep that He should not cry,
We cooed Him to sleep, my mate and I;
I,” said the dove, from the rafters high.

Thus all the beasts, by some good spell,
In the stable dark were glad to tell
Of the gifts they gave Emmanuel,
The gifts they gave Emmanuel

What is the most difficult thing about your spiritual path?

What I like most are boulder strewn or snow up to the knees paths not really paths at all or random animal trails I like the paths that one would consider difficult. I don't mind a smooth highway kind of path if it goes from here to the far horizon and there is some challenge in the far distance covered. Maybe the hardest part is the reality of not having wings. I pretend I do but it is not the same..

It doesn't sound so much as exist like a strong river current that I am delighted to ride.
