I would today want to meet the Saint Francis envisioned by Nikos Kazantzakis. I would like to meet that man because I am re-reading his book now, picked out of a free box with the same cover I remember and more so remembernig the force of the book when I first read it in high school.

I feel as though I have been practicing in this life to turn into a bird there are too many many kinds to know which one and if I somehow don't if I turn into a worm instead then the practicing will have been enough.

When I am searching for something in me it is most often the empty spaces I am lookng for feeling for and if there isn't enough empty then I want to make some more it might be in my mind or between my bones or my belly or my heart. I like knowing I have room for things to move in if they need a home for awhile.

I think there is no such thing there is only the path you are on or maybe no path in front only the one you have left behind and if you are on a river then you leave not even a bent twig that you passed at all.

What does flourishing mean to you?

Posted on Feb 20th, 2009 by Farland : almost human Farland

Flourishing is growth and change together so maybe sometimes it is new growth and sometimes the growth of decay, or in the depth of snow or the rushing meltwater from spring thaw or the dead leaves mulching into new soil. There are little stashes of dried out foodstuffs in the back recesses of my cabinets and drawers and holes for creatures to come and go throuh cracks in my floors and walls. That means to me that my homeplace is flourishing.

I want to be my father's angel. When I was little I wanted to be an angel so achingly I could almost feel the feathers arching across the place where the humerus joins the ulna.

I LOVE that we have no choice about the weather and it can change so many times! Today looks dreary I think that means it is hiding something some secret surprise.

Where is your favorite place to hide?

Posted on Feb 27th, 2009 by Farland : almost human Farland
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 22, 2009:

Dsc_0006
The idea of hiding is scary to me because of the possibilty of being found that is then presented. Sometimes I like to be alone and I go into the wilderness which is always close by. Then I feel the opposite of hiding I feel so so exposed to the trees seeing right through me and the wind doing what it wants with me or the darkness or sun and that is the best feeling.
